Debra – Launch of a Website

Ayeyai-yai-yaiyai!!  Please don’t ever make me move a website, upgrade a website or change content management systems again.

The journey began with our new blog site at and then finished with our new *combined* website.

BelleBooks & Bell Bridge Books are now firmly under one umbrella.  Huzzah!

I’m hoping to stop answering the question, “Do you publish any books that aren’t Southern?”  We had no idea we’d so firmly entrenched ourselves as a Southern publisher until we tried to break away from that image.

We’re still kicking the tires trying to find all the broken links or problems.  (We invite you to do so too!)

Our Writers section is updated for the various genres and submission guidelines.  We’re still learning how to manage behind the scenes.  Our web folks handle most of it, but we do now have a lot of flexibility we didn’t have before. Eventually we’ll even handle downloads from this site.

But for now, I’m content that we’ve moved.  Hope never to do it again.

How do you like the new look?

And, on yeah!  You guys can now get my very first romance.  Random House’s relaunch of the Loveswept line happened yesterday.  Get your copy of TALL, DARK AND LONESOME from your favorite ebook retailer, Amazon, Nook, etc.

Wow, Deb, the new site looks *awesome*. And much easier to navigate than other publishers’ websites! I’m off to do some more nosing around!

  2. loisgreiman says:

    Beautifffffful Deb. Good job you!!

  3. Kylie Brant says:

Deb, I can’t get any of the links to work at the top of the page…?

  4. debradixon says:

Kylie– Arrgh! And thank you. I’ve just tested and it’s fine. Do you mean the smaller books in the graphic near the header? We didn’t hot link those. Maybe we should. If you mean the MENU links at the top, can you tell me what browser?

  5. debradixon says:

Lois– Thanks! We like the look. Now it’s just a matter of “real world testing” with more browsers and more settings. Ayeyai-yai-yaiyai…again! (g)

  6. Helen Brenna says:

Looks amazing, Deb! Glad for you that it’s up!

And I love the cover on your first book. Is that new cover or the old one?

  7. Leanne Banks says:

Beautiful website Deb! Sounds like the pain of moving websites is similar to the pain of moving houses (as in homes, not publishers). But hopefully this will be worth it!:) HUGE congrats on the Loveswept re-release!!!:) xo, Leanne

  8. Kylie Brant says:

Yes I’m talking the links that say authors, books, etc. The browser is Safari.

  9. debradixon says:

Helen– The 8-pack cowboy is the new cover.

Leanne– Thanks. Yep, it’s a lot like moving. What do you take with you? What do you toss? What do you refurbish? And we still have things to be “freshened” but for now we’re moved. 🙂 It’s kind of like leaving some things in boxes for a while. EXCELLENT analogy. Are you a writer or something?

  10. Keri Ford says:

congrats on the new website and book!! I’ve got Tall, Dark, and Lonesome on my kindle and can’t wait to start it!

  11. debradixon says:

Keri– Bless you for getting TD&L. I’m trying to get ahead of Deborah Smith in the rankings. (g) Just a little friendly in-house competition.
