Everyone please welcome Tawny back to the convertible!  She’s got an awesome new release, and a great prize to give away to one lucky commenter!

Tawny’s Top Ten Romantic Evenings

I am happily celebrating the release of my tenth book, BREAKING THE RULES, this week.  And gearing up for an even bigger celebration…  Valentine’s Day.  Oh, the romance of it all, right?  Candy and flowers, hearts and candlelight.

At least, that’s what I imagine Valentine’s Day should be.  But even with my vivid romance-focused imagination, sometimes I struggle to come up with clever, fun ideas for a romantic evening.  Both in my books, and in real life.  So I made that my quest for this blog, hoping to give us all some ideas and see what ideas you can give me!

Here is my list of favorite romantic scenarios that I think would make for a very romantic Valentine’s evening:

    • A candlelight dinner cruise on the Bay (any Bay, but I’d pick San Francisco)
    • A secluded picnic for two by a lake
    • Slow dancing to your favorite music
    • Champagne and chocolate by a roaring fire
    • A long hand-in-hand walk on the beach at sunset
    • Hot toddies together while stargazing with a telescope on a high, quiet mountain
    • A pampered night of luxury in a high-end hotel, complete with room service
    • With the lights down low and the popcorn buttered, watch a romantic movie together
    • Share a rose petal strewn bubble bath together, with champagne and soft music
    • ???

As for number ten…  I’m waiting for you 🙂  What’s your idea of the perfect romantic evening?

To celebrate the release of BREAKING THE RULES, I’m giving away some Valentine’s treats to one lucky commenter today!  A hand-crafted (by me) heart-shaped tin filled with candy, and a book of the winner’s choice from my backlist!

Be sure and check out my upcoming party!

Valentines Party!

I’m so excited that my tenth release, BREAKING THE RULES, is on shelves now!  I loved writing this story, because it focuses on something near and dear to my heart – a Military Hero (my own hero-hubby was in the Army).  Even more fun was making this a Valentine’s story, complete with hearts and flowers.

To celebrate, I’m having an invitation-only Valentine’s Day Party!  Including:

    • ♥ A downloadable short story written just for this party as a door prize for everyone who attends
    • ♥ A sexy Top Ten to wind up my Top Ten tour: Ten Tips for a Hot Valentine’s Night
    • ♥ One lucky person will win a Valentine’s Basket!

All you have to do to join the fun is go to the Breaking the Rules Valentines Party page on my website, and let me know you’d like an invitation!

BREAKING THE RULES BLURB:

What do you get when you mix a military hero on a mission with an independent artist hell-bent on proving something?  A battle that can only be won between the sheets.

Sophia Castillo is finally calling the shots in her life, and she’s determined to stay in charge.  The last thing she needs is a babysitter.  Not even a babysitter as sexy as US Army Sergeant First Class and EOD Squad Leader, Maximillian St. James.  But when someone is sabotaging her art gallery, she turns to Max for help.  When he proves to be a challenge to her independence, she lays down their relationship rules.  Hot sex, good times and a lot of laughs are all good.  Anything involving their hearts is strictly off limits.  Before they catch the vandal, Max and Sophia both have to decide just which rules they are willing to break, and how high a price they are willing to pay.

Tawny Weber is usually found dreaming up stories in her California home, surrounded by dogs, cats and kids.  When she’s not writing hot, spicy stories for Harlequin Blaze, she’s shopping for the perfect pair of boots or drooling over Johnny Depp pictures (when her husband isn’t looking, of course).  Come by and visit her on the web at www.tawnyweber.com

How about a nighttime ride in a horse drawn carriage to a fantastic resturant that has dim lights and soft music.

  2. ruth says:

An Italian retreat with a serene, peaceful and beautiful setting. Lake Como.

  3. leannebanks says:

Tawny, welcome to the convertible. Your books sounds fab and I love your great romantic evening ideas. I’ll have to go along with Ruth. Lake Como sounds wonderful!

  4. Laney4 says:

I just had one of those. The kids were gone (very important). Overnight (a blessing). We had a gift certificate (bonus). To a lovely restaurant (ambiance is good too). We sat across from each other (might have looked silly otherwise). We gazed into each other’s eyes (and cleavage). We didn’t speak much (except with our eyes – have I mentioned where our eyes were?). We shared our meals (my unromantic mom would have called that swapping spits). We clinked our glasses (quietly, mind you). We smiled (and smiled and smiled). We declined dessert (because we were in a hurry). We went home (quickly – have I mentioned we were in a hurry?). The end (for YOU, but not for ME, LOL!).

Thanks for joining us, Tawny. As for me, I’d combine your ideas with Leanne’s from yesterday. Anything romantic would have to be warm right now. Give me a warm beach somewhere. Even alone would be romantic. 🙂

    • Tawny Weber says:

Hi Lois, and thank you so much for the welcome 🙂

Warm is always a good thing, and is why I live in California LOL. I stare at the weather photos of snow and bad weather and shiver a whole bunch 😉

Wouldn’t a beachside Valentine’s evening be fabulous? Candles, the sound of the ocean, a walk along the surf. Ohh yeah…

  6. CrystalGB says:

Hi Tawny. I think a romantic evening would be dinner at a nice restaurant and watching a romantic movie in the theatre.

  7. Stephenia says:

Honeymoon cabin at the lake or beach, grilled steaks and sides eaten on the deck with an ice cold dark lager or glass of wine while enjoying the view outside and relaxing in the hot tub after dinner.

I love reading all these ideas!

  8. Helen Brenna says:

    Hi Tawny and welcome!

Dinner and a movie is good enough for me. Heck anything can be romantic, right? It’s really all about the company!

Sounds like a fun book -big congrats on hitting that #10 milestone!!!

    • Tawny Weber says:

Hi Helen, and thank you for the welcome! And for the congrats 😀

Dinner and a movie can be GREAT and so romantic. Like you say, romance is all about the right company.

  9. Maureen says:

    Hi Tawny,
Congratulations on your new book! For me, I would just like a quiet dinner together.

  10. Pat Cochran says:

    Tawny,

(Please note that this is strictly a pretend-evening because neither of us is
    crazy about cold weather!)

A sleigh ride through the snow – the sleigh drawn by two white horses who
are bedecked with holiday finery and jingling bells. The ride ends back at our
cabin where dinner, with a prime roast beef entree, champagne, and chocolate
dipped strawberry dessert, awaits us. Following dinner, we snuggle on the
couch in front of a glowing fire, listening to our favorite Michael Buble albums
    before retiring for the evening.

    • Tawny Weber says:

Oh wow. Pat, what a fabulous image!! Romance, fun, music and candlelight. And I’d imagine that the sleigh ride would provide all sorts of snuggling options. For warmth, of course *g*

  11. Minna says:

Summer cottage with sauna, by a lake and some grilled food.

  12. Quilt Lady says:

A candlelight dinner would be at the top of my list that someone else fixed. Romantic evenings is something I never get.

  13. Jane says:

Congrats on your tenth release, Tawny. I love romances featuring military heroes. I would love to have the candlelight dinner cruise on San Francisco Bay. I can imagine how beautiful the view would be.

    • Tawny Weber says:

Thanks, Jane 🙂 I adore military heroes, too. They are so sexy and admirable.

I’ve done the San Francisco Bay dinner cruise before and it’s glorious. The view on the water is stunning. I hope you get to enjoy it one day! You’ll love it.

  14. Fedora says:

Dinner for just the two of us, with the kids off safely somewhere having fun on their own. Followed by some quiet time for us to talk, or uh, make out 😉

    • Tawny Weber says:

Hey Fedora 😀 YAY – a kidless evening of making out LOL. PERFECT! I think all romantic evenings definitely need that for dessert, huh? Or as an after dessert treat, since I’m not willing to give up chocolate 😀

      • Fedora says:

LOL! I’m all for dessert AND making out. In my dotage, I’m not willing to completely forego sweets… 😉

  15. Alina D says:

My idea of a romantic evening start with candlelight dinner. Then a romantic comedy in the theater. Followed by a long drive just talking and enjoying each other company. Topped off with dessert in bed! 😉

  16. Kylie Brant says:

Given the fact that my book is due on the 15th my wildly romantic evening will consist of me working all night and my husband delivering a sandwich to my computer 🙂 Oh, note to self–get card!

  17. ellie says:

the ultimate evening would be spent with my loved one at a beachside retreat and a walk along the seashore.

  18. Pam Keener says:

a candlelit cozy dinner for two in a secluded beach hut. A walk on the beach and perhaps a little romp in the waves.
    Love & Hugs,
    Pam

  19. Pat Cochran says:

    Tawny,
Just dropped back by to share: Honey walked in this evening with a copy of Breaking The Rules in hand. His comment: I found your book! Isn’t he a sweet thing!
