This weekend I was the happy participant of a weekend at Smith Mountain Lake with twelve other fabulous women (give or take a few depending on the night).
I’m a little late coming to this group. After all, many have been gathering for this weekend at one place or another for 25 years! YES!!! 25 years!
They are all fabulous women and I feel so honored to be a part of their group. We sat on the dock, drank wine, ate sandwiches, shared joys and trials, traveled to another dock for afternoon celebrations then returned and played games.
It’s all about the girls. All about the fun. All about the love.

I do have friends just like this.. We are eight who get together and have a great girls weekend.. It started out as four and then we slowly added more to our little group.. One of us passed away, but she is always remembered… We used to get together more often, but time and distance has made it harder to get together more than once a year…

So glad you had a great time, Leanne! I have a group of women like that – only we are smaller in numbers. We’ve been making the same trip every summer for over 20 years now. We have wso much fun … and you’re right. The LOVE is amazing. And the laughter. And the tequilla LOL

You are so lucky. I am in the position of being an outsider – a Yankee in the South – and in this area, an outsider is always an outsider. People are friendly, but close friends have been very difficult to find. Surface friends will have to do. I miss the closeness of friends I have had in other places we have lived. All too far away to get together very often.
